The One Where ‘Friends’-Inspires a LEGO Set

LEGO has debuted a new toy set inspired by the TV show “Friends.”

The Central Perk LEGO set is a collectible recreation of Central Perk, the fictional coffee shop from the series. It debuts during the Friends’ 25th anniversary year.

Measuring over 4 inches (11cm) high, 11 inches (29cm) wide and 8 inches (22cm) deep, the set features 1,079 LEGO elements. It includes seven mini-figures of the show’s main characters as well as miniature accessories including a couch, armchair, coffee machine, cookie jar, guitar and two chairs.

The set comes as part of the LEGO Ideas Fan Designer collection. Aymeric Fievet developed it based on their passion for TV series and LEGO products.

“The challenge was to visualize passages of the series to allow me to recreate the furniture and the characters in as much detail as possible,” says Fievet. “The assembly of this model took me about a week after finding the necessary references. During the voting period, the set was changed several times.”

LEGO Ideas offers fans

the opportunity to submit their own brick creations with the chance to have their concept brought to life and a share of the profits. Previous winning ideas have led to an

“Adventure Time” set.
