Basic Fun and indoor and outdoor play structures company Playhut will unveil a Baby Shark-branded Playhut at Toy Fair New York from Feb. 16-19.
The Pinkfong Baby Shark line of fun pop-up play tents will showcase the beloved Baby Shark, Mommy Shark, Daddy Shark and more.
In addition to the Classic Cube and Hide N Play, the large multi-structure Explore 4 Fun set is the ultimate play environment, with two three-foot tunnels and a play tent featuring Playhut’s patented EZ Twist frame, as well as multiple crawl-through doors and a flap that can be rolled up and tied back.
The Pinkfong Baby Shark Playhut line is expected to arrive at retailers this fall.

Sakar and Smithsonian Fly into Educational Electronics
Sakar International and Smithsonian have joined forces to develop an extensive line of STEM/STEAM Robotic and Remote-Control youth electronics, which they will announce at New York Toy Fair.
Sakar will bring the world of Smithsonian to life via a new range of science-based toys, including 3D Computer Science/Coding Kits and augmented reality (AR) toys, such as goggles and adventure kits. Players will be able to explore any U.S. city, exotic birds or ocean creatures by simply scanning a code that comes with an included app.
The first wave of products will include the Lunar Roving Vehicle, Mars Rover and more. The RC Lunar Roving Vehicle is modeled after the vehicle from the Apollo 15 mission. The Smithsonian drone line items are inspired by jet planes from World War II and Air Force planes and are controlled by joystick. Amelia Earhart’s “Little Red Bus” inspired the one of the drones in the line.
These products will be available to view at Sakar’s booth (#2018) at New York Toy Fair.
Hasbro Debuts New Power Rangers Toys
Hasbro will release two new Power Rangers toys that will be displayed at the toy company’s showroom floor at New York Toy Fair.
The Power Rangers Beast Morphers Beast-X Ultrazord Figure, which will hit store shelves in fall 2019, is aimed at children ages 4 and up.
The action figure detects positions and features more than 30 sounds and phrases, such as, “Beast-X Ultrazord attack!” The figure comes with an added bonus accessory for extra fun.
The second new item on display at Toy Fair will be the Power Rangers Playskool Heroes Power Morphin Megazord Playset, which will be available fall 2019.
The playset, aimed at children ages 3 and up, features two-in-one morphing action and stands two-feet-tall. Children will be able to twist the handle on the Megazord’s shoulder to open its chest, which reveals a pop-out lion’s head with electronic lights and sounds. The right shoulder of the toy can fire off projectiles, and children can enjoy big battles and a slew of surprises this playset has to offer.
Far Out Toys to Launch Ryan’s World Play Items
After less than two years in business, Far Out Toys has forged major retail programs and has captured a raft of popular licenses, including with heavyweight brands like NASCAR and Pocket.watch’s Ryan’s World.
This year, the company plans to offer Ryan’s World versions of its water play items Splash Out and the newly introduced Head Splat. Far Out also plans a lineup of new brands and original IP including NASCAR-branded toys, Crash Racers vehicle sets, Pulp Heroes collectibles, the Far Out Squaire, Drone Slayer and Crazy Critters Games, among other play items.
