In a move that signals a focus newly aligned on the partworks industry, Nickelodeon Consumer Products has partnered internationally with Eaglemoss Publishing. This marks the first deal for the two companies, allowing Eaglemoss first option on all Nickelodeon properties with a view to develop partworks and press collections across the globe (excluding the U.S.).

The partnership covers more than 35 Nickelodeon properties, including Dora the Explorer and iCarly, and has the potential to reach countries around the world. Distribution will be via kiosks and newsagents. The three-year deal was announced today at the Frankfurt Book Fair by Paula Allen, senior vice president of global publishing at NCP.

"This is a significant new direction for NCP which positions us perfectly to take an even greater share of a growing industry estimated to be worth $1 billion," says Allen. "Eaglemoss' ability to create innovative partworks is second to none and I'm particularly excited that, in addition to traditionally strong partworks markets including the U.K., France and Italy, we're partnering with a group making inroads into booming new markets such as Russia and Brazil."

The agreement will see the development of a minimum of four new products per year, of which two will be traditional partworks to test. The first product, the "Dora the Explorer Little Cooks Collection," is currently testing in the U.K. This cooking and picnic collectible set includes exclusive silicon bakeware and a Dora the Explorer plate and cutlery set while the accompanying magazine contains stories, activities and challenges, as well as easy-to-make recipes, all of which have been tested and approved by a nutritionist.

"We are absolutely delighted to have signed this agreement with Nickelodeon," says Andrew Jarvis, chief executive officer of Eaglemoss. "Eaglemoss is now a global partwork publisher operating in 34 international markets and we are very excited about the opportunity of launching partworks and collectibles from the wonderful portfolio of Nickelodeon properties in many of them."
