Hockey league takes center ice with a new line of toys featuring the Original Six teams.

Playmobil has launched its line of officially licensed National Hockey League play sets, marking the toy brand's first licensed range in North America.

The toy company first announced plans for the line June.

The line was unveiled in a special event at the NHL Powered by Reebok Store in New York City Thursday, hosted by New York Rangers All-Star Rick Nash.

The NHL play sets are now available for pre-order on Amazon, with the full product line set to launch at specialty retail stores across the U.S. on Oct. 15, just in time for the start of the 2015-16 NHL season.

The initial Playmobil NHL range focuses on the Original Six NHL franchises–the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs–with both player and goalie figures available for each team.

The full assortment also includes an NHL hockey arena complete with a scorekeeper, a Zamboni ice resurfacing machine, NHL referees and the Stanley Cup trophy.

"The upcoming NHL season promises to be one of our best yet, and now Playmobil and the NHL have partnered up to give kids a great way to express their appreciation for NHL hockey," says Dave McCarthy, vice president, consumer products licensing, NHL. "The NHL is focused on giving families with children access to toys and other experiences that are NHL authentic. Playmobil has decades of experience with creating top-notch toy products, so they really are an ideal partner for us to fulfill this vision and promote the love for the game of hockey to children and families everywhere."
