Corus Entertainment's Nelvana has partnered with Cepia, the toy company behind the robotic hamster toy brand ZhuZhu Pets, to re-launch the property. Nelvana will create a new TV series inspired by the brand and oversee global merchandising.

The original ZhuZhu Pets, introduced in 2009, were named Toy of the Year in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Brazil, Norway and the Czech Republic with global retail sales exceeding $2 billion and more than 70 million pieces sold in two years.

Cepia plans to bring the toys back to shelves this fall in anticipation of the new content and introduce two new characters to the line.
