Hasbro is working with The Beatles and handbag company Olympia Le-Tan for branded consumer products featuring its classic Monopoly board game.

A Monopoly board based on the Beatles’ animated film, Yellow Submarine, is in U.K. stores now to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the film. Produced by international game company Winning Moves and U.K. distributor Lasgo, the Yellow Submarine edition of Monopoly features cartoon incarnations of the Fab Four, characters from the film and the Yellow Submarine itself.

The original Yellow Submarine film will be re-released on July 8 at U.K. movie theaters as part of the 50th anniversary celebration.

“This colorful, inventive Yellow Submarine edition of Monopoly is a marvelous addition to the delightful and exciting ranges coming to retail in time for the 50th anniversary of one of the world’s favorite animated films,” says Caroline Mickler, who manages the U.K. licensing program for both The Beatles and Yellow Submarine brands, together with Apple Corps. “It’s further proof that this unique brand has never gone out of fashion in 50 years.”

In a separate deal, Parisian fashion brand Olympia Le-Tan announced a new licensing agreement for Monopoly-inspired handbags.

Known for the “book-clutch” handbags, the Olympia Le-Tan Monopoly handbag collection inspired by the brand’s signature game elements. The line is now available in-stores and online at select retailers worldwide.

“We’re thrilled to work with the Olympia Le-Tan team to bring a fun and fashion-forward Monopoly handbag line to fashion lovers around the world,” says Nikki Gie, director, consumer products, brand licensing, Hasbro. “OLT has been such a wonderful partner and we look forward to a long-lasting relationship together.”

“The Monopoly Collection will be an iconic start for a new strategy: closer to our partners and closer to our fans,” says Grégory Bernard, founder and chief executive officer, Olympia Le-Tan.
