License Connection will represent both the classic Monchhichi brand and its accompanying TV series. The agency hopes to expand on the brand’s licensing, which already includes lines for toys, games, stationery, novelties and gifts.

“The Benelux markets are a historical hotspot for us, and we’re very pleased to partner with License Connection to work on widening the range of official products for fans of all ages,” says Christophe Millet, business development manager, Sekiguchi.

Monchhichi was first introduced to consumers as a plush doll in 1974. Since its debut, it has been leveraged in a variety of products and entertainment venues. In 2014, the toy was re-introduced to audiences with the launch of a Japanese TV show based around the toy.
