PopCap Games, a division of Electronic Arts, has tapped K’Nex for a line building toys based on its “Plants vs. Zombies” game apps.

The sets will allow fans to build and play characters from the game including Sunflower, Wall-nut, Peashooter, Zombie and Pirate Zombie.

K’Nex will debut the new range at NY Toy Fair in February 2014, with the building sets arriving on shelf in fall 2014.

“Plants vs. Zombies building sets from K’Nex will bring these exciting characters to life in a new way,” says Michael Araten, president, K’Nex Brands. “Children of all ages will have the opportunity to build the Plants vs. Zombies neighborhood they love right in their own homes. Just like in the game, the builder will meet, greet and defeat legions of fun-dead zombies with a powerful army of plants. I can’t wait to see how fans will take their digital game skills and use them in the real world.”
