Kid Made Modern has tapped JLKBrand as the exclusive licensing agent for its children’s do-it-yourself brand.

Launched in 2012 by fashion designer Todd Oldham, Kid Made Modern aims to ignite kids’ creativity through DIY products that encourage them to "Go Make Stuff."

The brand currently has a large arts and crafts line at Target in the U.S. and Canada that will be expanded to retailers across the U.S. this spring.

JLKBrand will now look to extend the brand into additional categories targeted to girls and boys ages 6 to 12. Initial categories will include party goods, apparel, accessories, back-to-school, home goods including children’s furniture and bedding and more.

Kid Made Modern is also planning to launch a cross-platform media program featuring tutorial and educational videos hosted by Todd Oldham, mobile apps, a website, book series, magazines and local crafting events.

“Kid Made Modern is exactly the kind of partner JLKBrand wants to be associated with, one that has a compelling and unique design sensibility," says Joshua Kislevitz, president, JLKBrand. "Kid Made Modern promotes and encourages kids’ creativity and it has a commitment to sustainability that is inspiring. We’re looking forward to taking the success KMM has already established and extending it to many other categories.”
