Hasbro and the playing card brand Cartamundi have partnered to develop a new line of card games based Hasbro’s global brands in Europe.

Under the long-term agreement, Cartamundi will create a range of card games based on Hasbro's core franchise brands including Transformers, Littlest Petshop, My Little Pony and iconic game brands such as Monopoly, Guess Who? and Cluedo.

“We’re entering into an incredibly strong partnership with Cartamundi, bringing together our brands with their great innovation and strength in the industry; we’re really going to create something very new and exciting together,” says James Walker, vice president, brand licensing and publishing, EMEA and Pacific, Hasbro.

The range will use interactive playing cards that will be connected to smartphones and tablets for an enhanced digital experience.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Hasbro, the global leader in toys and games, and combining both our key strengths to bring a new way of playing cards for individuals and families alike,” says Chris Van Doorslaer, chief executive office, Cartamundi Group.
