Gund will produce plush, accessories and giftware aimed at girls and teens for “Hilda,” which launched in September 2018 and has won several 2019 Annie Awards, including Best Animated TV Production for Children.
“We are thrilled to be working with GUND with its rich heritage and commitment to high quality to kick off our global licensing adventure,” says Waheed Alli, chief executive officer, Silvergate Media. “‘Hilda’ could not be in better hands.”
“We’re huge fans of ‘Hilda’ and admire the magical connection she has created with adults and children,” says Ronnen Harary, co-founder, chairman and co-chief executive officer, Spin Master. “Gund has been bringing beloved characters to life in plush form to hug, hold and play with for more than a century, and we’re honored to be able to bring ‘Hilda’ from the screen to playrooms globally.”
“Hilda” is available across 130 countries via Netflix and features the voice talent of “Game of Thrones” star Bella Ramsey. The series follows the adventures of a blue-haired girl, Hilda, along her travels as she encounters new friends and mysterious creatures.
Gund’s “Hilda” range will hit store shelves in the U.S. in early 2020 before rolling out in additional markets.
