Bringing a unique twist to Panini’s 60-year heritage in licensed sports trading cards and a new product to the expanding Funko universe, the first drop of collectibles will feature six NBA players and six NFL players and hit retail in time for the holiday season.

"We are excited to enter into this collaboration with Funko; the success of our Panini trading cards in the collectible space along with the success that Funko is experiencing in the vinyl figure collectibles space, make this the ideal collaboration for sports fans and consumers," says Jason Howarth, vice president, marketing, Panini America.

"This is the perfect union of two amazing collector bases," says Matt Lattier, manager, brand licensing, Funko. "The strength of what Panini is doing in the trading card space and Funko's passionate fan base provide trading card and Pop! collectors the opportunity to display their fandom in a unique way."

Based on the Panini Prizm trading card brand, the new range of collectible Funko cards will be sold in a protective case and replicate the imagery and poses of each player from their respective Prizm cards.
