Annual awards recognize LEGO, Funko, “Paw Patrol” and more.
NORTH AMERICA–The 18th Annual Toy of the Year Awards, hosted the Toy Industry Association, honored the best toys and games of the year including the Toys of the Year –Fingerlings and L.O.L. Surprise–and License of the Year–Star Wars.
Other licensed brands that hit it big at the annual awards included Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World, “Paw Patrol” and more.
The event also marked the induction of Andrea Barthello, co-foudner and chief operating officer, ThinkFun, and the late James R. Becker, founder, Anjar Co., into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame.
"Known as the 'Oscars' of the toy industry, the TOTY Awards celebrate the best and brightest people and products … all while raising vital funding for The Toy Foundation's ongoing mission to bring help and joy to children in need," says Steve Pasierb, president and chief executive officer, The Toy Association. "The 2018 collection of extraordinary TOTY finalists and winners have brought endless fun and learning to kids across the globe. The annual TOTY awards process serves as a testament to the toy community's deep talent, entrepreneurialism, and innovation!"

Creative Toy of the Year– Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit (LittleBits)

Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year– Teddy Ruxpin (Wicked Cool Toys)
