Mattel has released a new Barbie figure inspired by the alter ego of rock ‘n’ roll artist David Bowie.

The latest addition to the Barbie line pays homage to Bowie’s post-Ziggy Stardust alter ego, Aladdin Sane. This new iteration of Mattel’s iconic doll is dressed in the late rock star’s stage costume from his 1973 tour. Barbie’s look features red platform boots, red hair and a gold disc on the forehead.

As a Gold Label doll, the Bowie Barbie will be produced in limited quantities and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The doll’s uniquely-designed packaging will display a collage of images from Bowie's early career.

The Bowie-inspired Barbie follows the recent debut of a Barbie modeled after astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti.
