In continuation of Barbie’s 65th anniversary celebration and its summer of sports, the brand introduced the Barbie Sue Bird Role Model doll to honor the basketball legend whose record-breaking legacy pioneered the way for growth in the women’s league.

As the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 WNBA draft with a 21-year legacy making sports history on and off the court, the Sue Bird doll is now available on Mattel Shop

The Sue Bird Barbie doll features the baller in her No. 10 jersey, high socks, slicked back ponytail and basketball ready for the court. The doll features a “Made to Move” body sculpt that is fully posable so children can play out to score a layup, dribbling around the defense or shooting a three-pointer.

Not only did Barbie work closely with Sue herself to sculpt a doll in proper reflection of her likeness, but as part of the launch and in celebration of Sue Bird’s career, Barbie will be donating to Every Kids Sport – a nonprofit organization close to Sue’s heart that helps kids of all financial backgrounds gain access to youth sports.
