Zagtoon has tapped Bandai America as the master toy licensee for its new CGI TV series “Ladybug” (26 x 26), a co-production with the French animation companies Zagtoon and Method Animation and Japan’s Toei Animation. The series has been commissioned by France’s TF1.

Bandai is planning a line that will include dolls, role play items, games and lifestyle products.

In addition to TF1, Disney Channel has acquired the series for pay-TV in Europe, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and free-to-air TV in Spain, Germany, Russia and Turkey.

“Ladybug” follows the story of Marinette and Adrien, Parisian junior high school students who transform into the bickering superhero duo Ladybug and Chat Noir.

"Ladybug brings a unique twist to the superhero genre with a fresh and modern girl character who is in line with kids’ and teens’ lives today,” says Jeremy Zag, president, Zagtoon.
