Aurora World is celebrating Raggedy Ann's 100th anniversary with special edition Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy rag dolls.

The Stars and Stripes special edition dolls, hitting shelves now, feature a red, white and blue theme, exclusive 100th year embroidery and commemorative hangtags.

"The Stars and Stripes dolls celebrate the goodwill, kindness and compassion that the Raggedy Ann doll creator Johnny Gruelle envisioned for the people of our nation," says Michael Kessler, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Aurora. "As Johnny Gruelle put it: 'Fairyland must be filled with rag dolls, soft loppy rag dolls who go through all the beautiful adventures found there nestling in the crook of a dimpled arm.'"

The Raggedy Ann doll features a Betsy Ross-inspired white shawl collar, printed dress with navy and white stars and elastic cap, while Raggedy Andy sports an Uncle Sam-inspired outfit including matching printed jacket top, red twill bow-tie and classic sailor hat.

Aurora is also planning a robust marketing campaign for the anniversary that will include a contest to win a 3-foot Raggedy Ann doll at New York Toy Fair this weekend.
