Italy-based Atlantyca Entertainment has signed deals for games and ancillary products for classic Geronimo Stilton with Editrice Giochi and La Nuova F.A.R.O.

Atlantyca, the original rights holder on the award-winning children's brand, manages all licensing in Italy for the classic Geronimo Stilton chapter book series, as well as worldwide publishing.

Board game publisher Editrice Giochi has signed a renewal deal to develop updated games and new games for the Geronimo Stilton classic brand. A re-stylized version of Scrabble and Pictionary are set for a Christmas 2009 release.

A further agreement was signed between the two companies to produce board games for Geronimo Stilton spin-offs Kingdom of Fantasy and Tea Sister.

"Editrice Giochi has an outstanding track record for delivering high-quality and innovative products," says Maria Giovanna Gurrieri, director of licensing at Atlantyca. "We have had a long history with them and are thrilled to be able to continue a relationship which has had enormous success with such a recognized name in the kids' game industry. This new deal complements our long-term objectives for the brand globally and we look forward to working with them in developing new and refreshed game concepts which are certain to be a hit for all Geronimo fans, old and new."

The deal with La Nuova F.A.R.O, known for its extensive line of 'edutainment' toys, has signed to produce children's play furniture, accessories, creativity games, and arts and crafts based on the Geronimo Stilton character. The products are set to debut at retail for the fall back-to-school period.

"La Nuova F.A.R.O. is a perfect fit for our classic brand," says Gurrieri. "We are proud to be working with a company whose reputation for quality products made in Italy matches the reputation of the imaginative and endearing Geronimo Stilton character."

The Geronimo Stilton books are published in over 175 countries, including in Italy by Edizioni Piemme (part of Mondadori Group) and in the U.S. by Scholastic.

Atlantyca Entertainment and co-production partner France's Moonscoop are in production on a "Geronimo Stilton" animated series, set for completion by September 2009.
