Arklu Expands ‘Pro-Girl’ Lottie Doll line
Arklu has expanded its ‘pro-girl’ Lottie line with new dolls and a variety of accessories.
April 6, 2018
The dolls are aimed at providing an aspirational doll line to young children. Arklu’s new line includes special-edition Gold Collection ‘Stargazer,’ ‘School Days’ and ‘Fossil Hunter’ dolls. The updated collection also features new outfits crowdsourced from a children’s design contest.
"The success of our initial line has proven what our extensive research told us – dolls that offer a positive body image and strong values are the types of dolls parents want for their kids and the kind of dolls kids love to play with," says Lucie Follett, co-founder of Arklu and, creative director, Lottie. "As we continue to extend the brand, our goals remain the same, to create products that let children enjoy all the positive facets of childhood without limitation, while instilling confidence and self-esteem, stimulating their minds and getting them outside and active.”
Lottie was developed alongside academics in the areas of child psychology and nutrition. Each doll was designed to reflects the average proportions of a nine-year-old girl in order to make them more relatable for children. The dolls also feature age-appropriate hobbies, back stories, clothing and accessories. Coming from various backgrounds, Lottie Dolls are diverse and come in a range of eye, hair and skin colors.
"Lottie is a positive role model," adds Ian Harkin, chief executive officer, Arklu. "Whether it's a more traditional girly activity like ballet, or being sporty, getting dirty or building a robot, Lottie helps show girls that there is a world of possibilities out there just waiting for them to discover."
Gold Collection Lottie dolls will be available for purchase now. Dolls and accessories are available in-store at select Toys ‘R’ Us, Hallmark and Barnes & Noble, and independent toy stores, as well as online at www.lottie.com and Amazon.
