PenGuin Launches Licensing Division
Brazilian animation studio PenGuin Content (formerly PinGuim) is reportedly taking its licensing and merchandising operations in house.
According to a new report from KidScreen, the studio behind "Earth to Luna" and "Ping and Friends" will no longer use licensing agencies as it more closely manages its brands. PenGuin's decision will allow the company to have more say in what its merchandise looks like and ensure its brands are leveraging all available licensing opportunities.
"We want to be able to capture the spirit of our properties with new toys that are relevant to our changing brands," says Celia Catunda, co-founder, PenGuin Content.
The animation house was established in Brazil but recently opened an office in the U.S. to serve as the administrative sales hub for co-productions and worldwide content distribution.
