Toei Animation, the studio behind “Dragon Ball” and “One Piece,” has announced a new partnership with Spaceport.xyz, an innovative IP licensing platform. This collaboration will bring Toei’s latest feature film, “Hypergalactic,” into the virtual worlds of popular platforms like Roblox and Fortnite, setting a new standard for user-generated content (UGC) and fan engagement.

The partnership aims to leverage Spaceport’s advanced Web3-based platform to license Toei’s character assets and IP from “Hypergalactic,” an entirely new film, to developers and content creators within these expansive virtual ecosystems. Unlike established franchises, “Hypergalactic” offers Spaceport and Toei the unique challenge and opportunity to build a fanbase from the ground up. Fans are encouraged to create trailers, designs and merchandise, providing a direct avenue for creative expression and monetization.

“Collaborating with Toei Animation on ‘Hypergalactic’ is more than just introducing new content to Roblox and Fortnite,” says Le Zhang, founder, chief executive officer, Spaceport. “It’s about empowering communities to create deeply personal interactive experiences that resonate with fans while unlocking new revenue streams for IP owners. This partnership has the potential to achieve the same cultural impact that Toei did with ‘Dragon Ball’ and ‘One Piece.’"

Following this collaboration, Spaceport has expanded its reach by securing a strategic partnership with Com2uS Platform, a major player in the Asian gaming industry. This partnership will see Spaceport’s platform exclusively representing Com2uS’s industry-leading IP across UGC platforms such as Roblox and Fortnite.

“Partnering with Spaceport aligns perfectly with our vision of expanding our reach and fostering creativity within the UGC space,” says Sogwon Choi, chief executive officer, Com2uS Platform. “This collaboration not only enhances the UGC landscape but also provides creators with unparalleled opportunities to showcase their talents and leverage new revenue streams.”
