Simon’s Cat, the popular animated character, is stepping into the digital world with the launch of its meme token, $CAT. In a collaboration with Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment, and Anonymous Labs, a Web3 marketing and development agency, the token aims to merge the brand with the world of blockchain technology.  

The $CAT token, which launched Aug. 22, will serve as the foundation of the Simon’s Cat Web3 community. The initiative is designed to introduce crypto enthusiasts and existing Simon’s Cat fans to the benefits of blockchain. Floki, a prominent player in the Web3 ecosystem, is backing the launch, with the token presale taking place exclusively on its Real World Asset and tokenization platform, TokenFi.  

As part of this new venture, Simon’s Cat has pledged a significant donation to Cats Protection, a U.K.-based cat welfare charity. The donation is expected to provide food for approximately 3,800 cats in care for 25 days, ensuring they receive nutritious meals while awaiting rehoming.

Created by award-winning illustrator, Simon Tofield, Simon’s Cat first appeared on YouTube in 2008 and has since garnered over 3 billion online views and 21 million fans across social media platforms. The brand’s success extends beyond the screen, with a strong gaming, publishing and apparel presence.  

With the $CAT token launch, Simon’s Cat continues to expand its reach, bringing together its community of fans and crypto enthusiasts while supporting a worthy cause.
