Zinkia Entertainment has signed Random House Children’s Books to develop a broad range of books for the U.S. and Canadian markets for its children’s brand Pocoyo.

Random House will publish storybooks, leveled reader books, coloring and activity books, board/novelty books and e-books in the English language. The first three books will be available at retail in summer 2012.

“We are delighted to partner with Random House to bring quality, fun and engaging books to Pocoyo fans across the U.S. and Canada,” says Maria Doolan, managing director, brand and business development, Zinkia Entertainment. "The timing could not be more perfect for Random House to work alongside our existing broadcast and consumer products partners to continue to provide fans with a wide range of quality Pocoyo products that will be engaging, helping them to learn through laughter.”

“The Pocoyo brand encourages creativity, discovery, and curiosity,” says Chris Angelilli, vice president and editor–in–chief of Golden Books at Random House Children’s Books. "It has seamlessly blended educational material with playtime, to great acclaim in the television and toy markets. We are thrilled to bring the adorable characters and simple yet interactive stories to a wide variety of reading formats."
