The WWE will be bringing some heft to Saban Brands’ new Saturday morning programming block, Vortexx, as stars from the professional wrestling league join the Power Rangers, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Iron Man in the newly announced lineup.

“WWE Saturday Morning Slam” will anchor the 5-hour block on The CW, which debuts Aug. 25.

The new half-hour show marks the first time in more than 10 years that the WWE will have a program in a kids time slot. The show will feature wrestler profiles, behind-the-scenes footage and an exclusive WWE match every week.

“WWE has a long history on Saturday mornings, and we’re thrilled to make our action-packed return on Vortexx with ‘WWE Saturday Morning Slam,’” says Vince McMahon, chairman and chief executive officer, WWE. “The new program enables us to further engage kids and families, a vital component of WWE’s passionate and multi-generational fan base.”

Joining the WWE on Vortexx are:

  • “Cubix”– Set in a world full of robots, Connor and his robot Cubix must work together to save the day.
  • “Rescue Heroes”–A crack team of international emergency response professionals travel the globe to help those in danger.
  • “Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy”–When the spaceship Terra Venture is threatened by dangerous aliens, a new team of Power Rangers become the Galaxy Rangers.
  • “Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal”–A mysterious spirit appears to young duelist Yuma Tsukumo and enlists his help in finding his lost memories.
  • “Iron Man: Armored Adventures”–A teenage billionaire must take on the mantle of Iron Man when his father mysteriously disappears.
  • “Justice League Unlimited”–Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl defend the planet.
  • “Dragonball Z Kai”–Martial artist Goku and his son Gohan travel the galaxy, battling aliens and other enemies in their attempt to save the world.
  • “Yu-Gi-Oh! Classic”–Yugi Moto is taken over by a mysterious spirit when he solves an ancient artifact known as the Millennium Puzzle.

“Our goal is to re-energize kids broadcast television by providing entertaining and high-impact programming on Vortexx all morning long,” says Joel Andryc, co-president, Vortexx. “We are proud of the lineup we have put together, which also includes classics and fan favorites like ‘Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy’ and ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’”
