Watch Out for New Timepieces
L.A.M.B., the lifestyle brand created by Gwen Stefani, partnered with Vestal Group on a line of women's watches due first on shelves at Nordstrom's and then at other department stores in July. The debut line will consist of 28 timepieces (suggested retails, $195 to $650) and will be expanded even further by the 2006 holiday season.

EA and 2K Sports Got Game
The National Hockey League Players' Association and the National Hockey League partnered with Electronic Arts and 2K Sports on non-exclusive, multi-year licensing extensions. This fall, EA will create NHL '07 for current and next-generation consoles, including Xbox 360, while 2K Sports will publish NHL 2K7 for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 next-generation game consoles, as well as current generation systems for the holiday season.

Rockin? New Program Headed to Retail
Paidas Management hopes to strike a chord with the rollout of a Rock Rebellion licensing program. The goal of the program is to create merchandise from the hottest acts from the late '60s, '70s, and '80s, as well as the top musical instrument brand names. Balzout and Bioworld Merchandise currently are on board with the pair creating men's and women's T-shirts, hats, jackets, apparel, and accessories.

Fans to Vote on Next Tamagotchi Design
Bandai America has its first-ever "Fan's Choice" beginning in mid-July, calling on all Tamagotchi lovers to help select the design of the first Version 4 toy that will debut at retail in January 2007. While the details on Version 4 are being kept hush-hush, fans can log onto http://www.tamagotchi.com throughout July and August to participate in the voting. The winning design will be announced in October. The company also introduced a new "Gotchi Gear" line, which includes colorful lanyards, or Tama Leashes, with a miniature character figure attached; three-in-one charms that feature smaller versions of Mametchi, Memetchi, or Kuchipatchi, along with collectible items commonly found in Tamagotchi Town; and 3.5-inch Pet Pouches that are shaped like individual characters.

Extreme Makeover Comes to Toy Shelves
B-Bel joined forces with ABC to introduce a line of toy and craft products based on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The line includes house models in one, two, and three stories, as well as accessories to paint, sticker, stamp, stencil, weave, and construct the rooms. Other related products include the Yard and Patio Kit and the Makeover Family (dolls suited for the house).

Zodiac Girlz Headed to Teletoon
Portfolio Entertainment Inc. signed a development deal with Teletoon for The Zodiacs, an animated comedy-action series based on the Zodiac Girlz characters and Website. Created by 3 Muses LLC, the Website gets 500,000 visitors per month and more than 7 million page views.

Execs on the Move
Toys "R" Us, Inc., named Ronald D. Boire president of Toys "R" Us, U.S., effective July 17. In his new position, the former Best Buy executive will oversee all merchandising, marketing, and operational responsibilities. Mobliss named Jim Merrick its new president and CEO.
