Big Idea Entertainment has announced its first superhero-themed DVD title, VeggieTales: The League of Incredible Vegetables.

The DVD will star LarryBoy alongside other VeggieTales characters that will have new superhero abilities.

VeggieTales: The League of Incredible Vegetables will hit shelves Oct. 13 and Oct. 16, in Christian and general market stores respectively, and will be supported by a comprehensive marketing, advertising and licensing campaign.

A series of League of Incredible Vegetables action figures, toys, apps and other products will also roll out this fall, and various companies including Chuck E. Cheese’s and Braum’s Ice Cream, have signed on as promotional partners.

“The superhero genre continues to amaze and captivate new generations of fans with exciting new franchises debuting every year,” says Greg Fritz, senior vice president sales and marketing, Big Idea Entertainment. “Our VeggieTales heroes are unique in that they turn to God for guidance and assistance even though they possess some extraordinary abilities. We are thrilled to offer this action-packed new title that will have mass appeal based on the genre and also remind kids where their ultimate help comes from.”

Big Idea Entertainment has also announced that the “VeggieTales Live! God Made You Special” tour will be expanded to 45 additional cities.
