FremantleMedia Enterprises and Pacific Animation Partners, a joint venture between Jakks Pacific and Dentsu Entertainment USA, have added The Topps Company to its Monsuno program.

The partnership sees Topps as investor in the production of the "Monsuno" animated television series, as well as a licensee for trading card games, confectioneries and other related products.

"Topps has far-reaching retail presence and significant expertise in building large and tremendously loyal networks of kids, tweens and young adults who become heavily invested in collector card brands," says Stephen Berman, Jakks chief executive officer. "We believe Topps will be integral in helping to foster a deep and engaged following for the 'Monsuno' TV series and products. We expect to work closely with them to build experiential campaigns that strongly synchronize the animation content, the Jakks toys and the Topps card games for Monsuno fans."

The Monsuno program includes Jakks Pacific, the IP owner and master toy partner, and FME, the exclusive worldwide distributor and worldwide licensing agent (excluding Asia, which is served by Dentsu).

"Monsuno" is set to air in late fall 2011/spring 2012, pending finalization of a U.S. broadcast deal. The toy line from Jakks will be released in conjunction with the series debut. The series is co-produced by Pacific Animation Partners in collaboration with Dentsu's Tokyo-based subsidiary animation production arm Dentsu Tec.
