ITV Studios Partners Up

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has made a series of new partnerships for several key brands include Hell’s Kitchen, Babar and the children’s program, “Matt Hatter Chronicles.”New partners T-Line Design will work with ITV to launc

New partners T-Line Design will work with ITV to launch a Hell’s Kitchen licensing program with a line of branded t-shirts. The deal was brokered by Firefly Brand Management, ITV GE’s licensing agent.

Nine different designs are scheduled for release this summer to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary. The t-shirts will feature some of the show’s funny, ferocious and now famous catchphrases including “It’s raw!,” “Shut it down,” “You stupid donkey!,” “Bloody Hell!” and, of course, “Great job. Now piss off!”

HK t-shirts will appear in stores across the U.S. starting in July to coincide with the premiere of “Hell’s Kitchen” season 10 this month.

ITV also announced this week that it was taking on representation of two new properties–U.K. rights for the classic preschool brand Babar and U.K., Eire, Australia and New Zealand rights for the CG-animated TV series, “Matt Hatter Chronicles.”

The multi-year deal with Nelvana and The Clifford Ross Company for the Babar property will encompass the brand through the ages, including Babar from the original books, Babar from the original 1980s TV series, and Babar from the new animated series “Babar and the Adventures of Badou,” which currently airs on CITV.

“We are delighted to be working with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to launch a robust Babar merchandise licensing program in the U.K.,” says Antoine Erligmann, vice president, European licensing, Nelvana. “We are confident that U.K. audiences will be charmed by the warmth, humor and strong family values of both the cherished, classic Babar, as well as the new Badou property.”

The second deal, with Platinum Films Limited, will see ITVS GE represent Matt Hatter Chronicles across merchandising, publishing, promotional and home entertainment rights.

“‘Matt Hatter Chronicles’ combines cutting edge, 3D animation, cinematic production values and exciting storytelling, in a pulse-pounding comedy adventure designed to appeal to the hero in us all,” says Jean-Philippe Randisi, executive vice president and director of consumer products, ITVS GE. “We are very excited to be representing this unique property and look forward to bringing it to the market.”
