Hodder Children’s Books has acquired worldwide publishing rights to My Cat Pip, the design brand and greeting card property. The deal was brokered by KJG, the U.K.-based licensing agency that represents the brand.

Four books will be published for children ages 3 and older and released in March 2013.

“My Cat Pip’s bold illustrations and distinctive cute style is easily recognizable and lends itself perfectly to the publishing arena,” says Kirsty Guthrie, director, KJG. “We are really looking forward to working with the team at Hodder Children’s Books to create a lovely range of books that we are sure will be welcomed by My Cat Pip fans.”

My Cat Pip cards are currently sold across Russia, France and Australasia.

Hodder Children’s Books joins existing licensees Aurora for plush; Ethos Concepts for toiletries; Vista Stationery and Print for calendars and year planners; Alligator for gift bags and boxes; Robert Frederick for stationery; Bluebird Brands for mugs, coasters, purses, wallets and umbrellas; Shreds for products aimed at 2- to 4-year-olds, including aprons and mini tote bags; and WW Group for a clothing line for girls through Co-op and Beales.

“My Cat Pip is a terrific addition to our stable of picture books and growing licensing list,” says Anne McNeil, publishing director, Hodder Children’s Books.
