Chris Protheroe has been promoted by CPLG to the newly created position of president and group managing director. The new role comes on the heels of a restructuring after Wednesday's exit of Katarina Dietrich as chief executive officer.

Protheroe will now be responsible for the strategic management and leadership of the business and will work alongside Steve Manner, who was recently named executive vice president and director of entertainment. Protheroe previously served as director of CPLG and managing director of CPLG Sport.

"I'm delighted to be taking on this exciting role," says Protheroe, "CPLG has experienced a period of sustained growth over the last few years and is now a truly global business. I am looking forward to the challenge of taking things even further and driving the company's role in licensing the biggest and best names in entertainment, design and sport."

In other CPLG news, the Peanuts property recently enjoyed 60th anniversary celebrations at nine Marks & Spencer flagship stores throughout the U.K. The special half-term promotions include free stickers, a kids' coloring contest, face painting and visiting costume characters. CPLG serves as licensing agent for Peanuts.
