Corus Entertainment Strengthens TV Division

A number of executive moves have been made within Corus Entertainment's television division.

The following have been appointed to the company's international television group Nelvana Enterprises. All will report to Colin Bohm, vice president of international.

  • Jerry Diaz to vice president of worldwide sales and distribution, where he will be responsible for the placement of Corus-controlled content with key linear and non-linear partners around the world.

  • Antoine Erligmann to vice president of licensing in Europe. He will be based in Paris and will oversee Nelvana Enterprises' European consumer products business, responsible for managing brands with licensees, retailers and merchandise agents in Europe.

  • Peter Maule to vice president of worldwide home entertainment and digital media for licensing in the Americas and Asia Pacific. In addition to being responsible for optimizing Corus-controlled properties across all home entertainment and digital media channels, he will now oversee Nelvana Enterprises' consumer product business in the Americas and Asia Pacific.

  • Irene Weibel to vice president of development and co-productions, where she is responsible for the creative development of Nelvana Studio properties for the Corus family of channels. Weibel is also responsible for developing new co-production partnerships, managing Nelvana's feature film slate and, together with the sales team, placing Nelvana's shows in the U.S. broadcast marketplace.

  • Andrew Liem to director of creative services, where he will develop creative materials and tools to support Nelvana's global merchandise, home entertainment and broadcasting brand rollouts. He is responsible for developing style guides, product approval and development, as well as liaising with key underlying rights holders.

And below are those who have been named to positions within Corus' television programming and production operations. All will report to Doug Murphy on a temporary basis as a search is under way for a vice president and head of programming and production.

  • Ted Ellis to vice president of kids' and family programming, overseeing the direction of content and schedule strategies for all of Corus' kids and family networks, including YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon and CMT.

  • Renee Skea to vice president of women's programming, overseeing the direction of content and schedule strategies for all women's specialty networks, including W Network, VIVA, CosmoTV and W Movies.

  • Vibika Bianchi to vice president of original programming for lifestyle, reality and factual, responsible for all original unscripted programming, working closely with the sales team on integrated content opportunities for all Corus' specialty and pay networks.

  • Jocelyn Hamilton to vice president of original programming for kids, comedy and drama, responsible for all scripted original production and development for all Corus' specialty and pay networks.  

  • Karen Philips to vice president of network program operations, continuing to oversee and manage the transition, development and performance of program management systems, as well as establish and oversee best practices and strategy across Corus' specialty and pay networks.

  • Lynn Chadwick to vice president of network for content acquisitions and pay, overseeing all aspects of the Corus Television network's acquisition activities. She is responsible for negotiating and closing program, content and equity, and will work toward standardizing rights for use across all channels and platforms. In addition, Chadwick is responsible for the pay and movie programming group, including Dusk and Sundance.
