Atlantyca Entertainment announced the launch of the first Geronimo Stilton magazines with publishing partners Baeckens Books for Belgium and The Netherlands and Grupo Z in Spain.
Baeckens Books, publisher of Atlantyca’s Geronimo Stilton book series in Belgium, will launch the first Dutch-language Geronimo Stilton magazine in April. The magazine will debut this month.
Grupo Z, Spain’s leading magazine and newspaper publisher, will launch a Spanish-language Geronimo Stilton magazine April 15. The magazine comes to Spain to support the Geronimo Stilton book series. Published by Editorial Planeta, the books have sold over 5.5 million copies.
“Baeckens Books’ success with the Geronimo Stilton book series over the past 10 years is testament to their enthusiasm for our most beloved character and demonstrates Baeckens’ ability to build on the Geronimo Stilton brand even further with a wonderful new line of magazines that deliver the fun and engaging work of our most famous mouse-author,” says Claudia Mazzucco, chief executive officer of Atlantyca Entertainment. “We recognize that Grupo Z’s experience and success with the leading children’s magazine in Spain, Cartoon Network, is a great asset for the Geronimo Stilton brand.”
The deal was brokered by Rosamaria Pavan, foreign rights agent; Stijn Baeckens, Baeckens Books; Carmen Castillo Bazan, foreign rights director at Grupo Z; and Ana Tamarit, Grupo Z.
