“Yu-Gi-Oh!” will be morphing into skateboarding culture in a big way, thanks to a new agreement with Bear Walker Industries (BWI) and its founder, Bear Walker, the renowned wood craftsman, skateboard maker and entrepreneur.

The announcement was made by Jennifer Coleman, vice president, licensing and marketing, Konami Cross Media NY.

Bear Walker Industries plans to create a range of limited-edition, high-end, collectible, artistic wooden skate decks and skate accouterments based on “Yu-Gi-Oh!”

Ushering in a new era of skateboards and cruisers, the team at BWI spends months developing and manufacturing handcrafted skateboards and accessories. Given the attention to detail, Walker releases only a handful of collections each year in quantities of 500 or less. The “Yu-Gi-Oh!” skateboards are expected to be unveiled later this summer.

“‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ fans are in for the ride of their life,” says Coleman. “Thanks to the talents of Bear and BWI creative team, the new ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ skateboards will be functional, beautiful and high quality, turning skateboarding into a rideable art on wheels.”

“I want getting a piece of this collection to feel like you pulled an Exodia card,” says Walker. “Something that will be cherished and coveted. A lot of work is going into this collection, and we’ll be unveiling some new styles that we’ve never done before, and I have a few surprises that I think ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ fans will really appreciate.”
