Coolabi has tapped King Rollo Films to adapt publishing property "Poppy Cat" into an animated series to air on Nick Jr U.K. in 2011.

The "Poppy Cat" book series is created by Lara Jones and has sold more than 2 million copies. It's published by Campbell Books, a division of Macmillan Publishers.

King Rollo Films' previous productions include "Humf," which earned the studio a BAFTA nomination in 2009, as well as "Maisy," "Spot" and "Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies." The animation studio has worked with many entertainment companies such as Nickelodeon, Universal Pictures, Disney, National Geographic and the BBC.

"Bringing this incredibly popular and well-loved character to the screen is a wonderful opportunity," says Michael Dee, director of content at Coolabi. "With King Rollo Films we have an animation partner that is experienced and respected. We look forward enormously to working with them and will have further exciting announcements on Poppy Cat during the coming months."

Besides Poppy Cat, Coolabi's portfolio includes Purple Ronnie, Scarlett & Crimson, The Large Family and Dead Gorgeous.
