King Features Expands the Flash Gordon Universe with Mad Cave Studios

King Features, a unit of Hearst, in partnership with Mad Cave Studios, is expanding the universe of Flash Gordon, through the release of new titles, "Flash Gordon: The Girl from Infinity," "Flash Gordon: Quarterly #2: The Heart of Arboria" and "Flash Gordon Adventures."  

The recent franchise expansion underscores King Features' focus on investing in new pop culture content and prioritizing creators while maintaining the integrity of the Flash Gordon character that audiences have come to love.  

Since its initial publishing in 1934, Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon has captured the imagination of readers worldwide with its dynamic storytelling, captivating artwork, and memorable characters. To this day, Flash Gordon shows no signs of slowing down, with recent exclusive asset reveals like the captivating interiors from This is following recent wins for Mad Cave Studios' Flash Gordon titles, including the just announced silver-tier placement for Free Comic Book Day 2025, as well as a new story arc for Flash Gordon, which Tripwire recently nominated for Best New Series.

"Flash Gordon: The Girl from Infinity"is a reimagining of Flash Gordon, written by New York Times-bestseller Marguerite Bennett and illustrated by Bev Johnson. Fans can follow as voyager Dale Arden discovers a shooting star containing a girl named Flash Gordon, Savior of the Universe. But Flash has no memory of who she is, and together, she and Dale must uncover her past, save Dale's family, and rescue the alien planet of Omnia from the clutches of the cruel Emperor Azimuth. The book will be available in hardcover and paperback on May 20 and for preorder wherever books are sold, including Barnes & Noble and Amazon. 

Fans will also want to get their hands on "Flash Gordon Adventures," an all-ages series by the award-winning creative team of Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani, which is on sale now at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and Bookshop.
