BBC Worldwide has named its first five deals for entertainment show "Strictly Come Dancing" for autumn product launches including apparel and stationery.

Strictly is one the priority adult brands in the broadcaster's portfolio.

"I'm delighted that we are bringing the glamorous world of Strictly Come Dancing to our licensing portfolio," says Neil Ross Russell, managing director of children's and licensing at BBC Worldwide.

"The recent restructure of our division, to include more emphasis on adult licensing, is driven by the opportunity that brands such as Strictly present," adds Ross. "These are hugely popular shows and there is a demand among fans to be able to further their enjoyment of the brand away from the television. These new deals for Strictly Come Dancing are aimed at meeting that demand in order that we can deliver more revenue back to the BBC. The product lines are a really good reflection of the glitz and glamour that Strictly has come to represent and we look forward to success when product launches later this year."

Master gift licensee is Zeon, which will develop a range of backpacks, shoulder bags and vanity cases inspired by the glamour of the show. Plans also include jewelry, purses and cosmetic bags, glitter balls, an iPod cover and earphones.

Aykroyds and TDP Licensing are to produce children's and adult nightwear. Cohen and Wilks will create children's outerwear, including dance daywear. Blueprint is signed for Strictly Come Dancing-themed stationery products. Danilo will supply calendars and diaries.

The Strictly Come Dancing publishing program from BBC Books has sold over 130,000 books. Other existing deals include U Music for Strictly CDs and 2Entertain for DVDs.

The Strictly Live Tour debuted in Newcastle in January and is currently touring the U.K.
