Leading the way to a major push in Latin and South American consumer markets, Konami Cross Media has signed sub agent representation agreements with Angelotti Licensing and Mon Licensing – two experienced anime licensing, merchandising and promotion companies in the regions – to expand the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand.
The announcement was made today by Jennifer Coleman, vice president, licensing and marketing, Konami Cross Media.
With over 30 years of experience, Angelotti Licensing, headed by Luiz Angelotti, specializes in the development of strategies and the implementation of programs for anime IPs. He and his team will be overseeing the development of licensing for “Yu-Gi-Oh!” in Brazil.
Mon Licensing, headed by Andres Mon, is a company with 30 years' experience in the licensing market, promotional development, product lines for exclusive sale to department stores (DTR) and events/exhibitions related to the world of entertainment. Based in Panama with offices in Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia, Mon Licensing has come onboard as the sub agent for Latin America.
One of the first deals in the region is with Ropa Viva, Konami Cross Media’s first local licensee. The company is developing a line of “Yu-Gi-Oh!” clothing for Mexico; their first apparel collection has launched with great success. A leader in the textile industry, Ropa Viva, now headed by Daniel Salame, produces world-class garments and gives its customers the best service with a group of quality control professionals overseeing each step of production.
