Nickelodeon kicked-off its “Sunny Day Tour” at the Bentonville Film Festival which took place May 1-6 in Bentonville, Ark.
The “Sunny Day Tour” brings the animated series to life through immersive activities, a product showcase and content screenings. The Bentonville Film Festival event included branded displays, shopping tablets, giveaways, photo ops with character cut and props as well as hair styling and nail decal stations.
The “Sunny Day Tour” will continue at Walmart stores across the country until August 8. Events will take place in Pensacola, Fla., Lexington, Ky., Knoxville, Tenn., Santa Clarita, Calif. and more.
The tour is part of a robust licensing program Nickelodeon has laid out for the animated series.
Nickelodeon’s “Sunny Day” licensing program includes a consumer products deal with Mattel for basic and deluxe doll assortments, accessories, plush, role play and playsets. It will be available exclusively at Walmart this May before rolling out to additional retailers in August.
“‘Sunny Day’ is a show that celebrates individuality and self-expression, and we wanted our new toy line to embody these empowering characteristics,” says Jennifer Caveza, senior vice president, toys, Nickelodeon Consumer Products. “Created with Mattel, these products invite fans of the show to express their creativity, whether that’s through hair styling on the dolls or by recreating adventures in Sunny’s salon-on-the-go Glam Van.”
In addition, Nickelodeon will roll out a variety of consumer products for “Sunny Day” later this year including apparel and accessories, arts and crafts, consumer electronics, games and puzzles, home goods, novelty, publishing and home entertainment, ride-ons and sporting goods, social expressions and RC vehicles.
