Fred Soulie has taken the roll.

Fred Soulie has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager at Mattel Television. Previously, Soulie served as senior vice president, content distribution and business development, and was responsible for the strategic distribution of content across all platforms and geographies. 

In this new role, Soulie will oversee the development, production and distribution of Mattel’s slate of television and streaming content. He will report to Richard Dickson, president and chief operating officer, Mattel. 

“A robust slate of television and streaming episodic content is a key part of our transformation into an IP-driven, high-performing toy company,” says Dickson. “We have a strong roster of television content already in production – from Thomas & Friends and Barbie to Masters of the Universe – with many more projects in development. Fred is a highly experienced leader who will accelerate our efforts to further build our television business.” 

Reporting to Soulie will be Adam Bonnett, executive producer, Andrea Carpenter senior director, entertainment and content distribution, Americas, Grace Chan, senior director, content distribution and business development, Asia Pacific and Alex Godfrey, senior director, content distribution, EMEA. 

Soulie has nearly two decades of experience in business development and content distribution. He joined Mattel in September 2018 from Saban Brands where he served as executive vice president, global distribution and consumer products, overseeing global distribution and consumer products for several of the company’s franchises. Earlier in his career, Soulie held roles at Endemol, DIC Entertainment/Cookie Jar Entertainment and Intermix Media/MySpace.
