Decode Enterprises has announced that the children's live-action series "How To Be Indie" (26x30) has been acquired for Disney Channel U.K. The series, produced by Canada's Heroic Film Company, will begin airing this summer.

"How To Be Indie" is told through the eyes of 13-year-old Indie (Melinda Shankar) as she tries to balance the traditions of her South Asian family with her Western lifestyle. The series was created by writer Vera Santamaria ("Degrassi: The Next Generation," "The Latest Buzz" and "Naturally Sadie") and Heroic Film's executive producers John May and Suzanne Bolch.
