HBO Max, Crunchyroll Team for a Slate of Anime Titles

With Netflix working to become a dominant presence in the anime streaming space, AT&T’s WarnerMedia is using its anime streaming service Crunchyroll to bring in subscribers to HBO Max, according to a report by

The Verge.

Those who subscribe to HBO Max will be able to stream 17 anime series that are available on Crunchyroll including “Keep Your Hands off Eizouken” and “Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.” Every three months, Crunchyroll will curate new anime content for HBO Max subscribers. Popular series such as “Death Note” and “Hunter x Hunter” will be making their way to the streaming platform later this year.

This partnership will bring a small number of the 1,000-plus anime series on Crunchyroll to HBO Max. Both entities are owned by AT&T, and the partnership aims to bring more anime to a wider audience.

HBO Max launches on May 27 for S14.99 per month.
