Disney is to launch Disney XD in the U.K., the "boy-focused, girl-inclusive" channel for children ages 6 to 14. It will replace Jetix U.K., which it bought earlier this year.

Pay TV Disney XD will include a mix of live-action and animated programming, targeting boys' discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure, music and humor entertainment with Disney-branded live-action movies, new and library animated programming and local acquisitions.

Launching at the same time as Disney XD will be its online extension, www.DisneyXD.co.uk, featuring numerous games and exclusive clips.

The Disney line-up for the U.K. for 2- to 14-year-olds and families will feature Disney Channel, Disney XD, Playhouse Disney and Disney Cinemagic.

Disney XD launched in the U.S. in February and in France in April.
