Disney has announced 10 European projects for their Disney + streaming service and general entertainment brand Star.

"These first ten projects embody our ambitious vision for local production," Liam Keelan, vice president, original content, Disney EMEA, told Variety. "Our initial European offering underscores Disney's regional commitment to outstanding and diverse talent, reflecting our desire to work with the very best storytellers in the industry."

French commissions include four-part Star original miniseries "Oussekine" and Star original documentary series "Soprano: Sing or Die." Disney + originals from France include "Parallels" and "Weekend Family."

Star originals from Italy include the mafia series "The Good Mothers," based on the book by journalist Alex Perry; comedy series "Boris" and a romantic drama "The Ignorant Angels."

Dutch commissions include "Feyenoord Rotterdam" and German commissions include Star originals "Sam – A Saxon" and dark comedy "Sultan City."

To help roll out the new shows, Disney has announced two new roles in Spain and Germany.

Benjamina Mirnik-Voges has been appointed as vice president, original productions, Germany and Sofía Fábregas has been appointed as vice president, original productions, Iberia. Both roles will be responsible for the development and production of the local originals for Disney +.

"Our commissioning strategy showcases our commitment to producing world-class original content, tailored to local markets but with the creative ambition to appeal to audiences across the globe," Diego Londono, executive vice president, media networks and content, The Walt Disney Company EMEA, told Variety. "Europe has a global reputation as a creative powerhouse, which combined with Disney's expertise in high-quality storytelling and its relationships with top talent on and off-screen will ensure Disney + is the go-to destination for compelling and engaging entertainment in Europe."

Star launches on Disney Plus Feb. 23.
