Crunchyroll has debuted the partnership ahead of the 40th anniversary of the “Gundam” series. Premiering in 1979, the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” series has grossed more than $20 billion in retail sales over its lifespan.

The deal comes following Crunchyroll’s recent majority stake acquisition of VIZ Media last month.
