FUNimation Entertainment and Toei Animation have granted 4Kids Entertainment the U.S. TV broadcast rights to "Dragon Ball Z Kai." The series will premiere during the 2010-2011 season on TheCW4Kids' Saturday morning block.

The show is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. "Dragon Ball Z Kai" debuted on Japanese television in April 2009 and currently rates among the top five animated programs in the country. The original series, "Dragon Ball Z," celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2009.
