Major League Baseball, the New York Yankees and Highland Mint have created a Derek Jeter coin program to celebrate the final season in Jeter’s 20-year baseball career.

Each coin will feature a special retirement badge on one side and a highlight from Jeter’s career on the other. The range of 10 collectors’ coins will be released throughout the baseball season. Later in the season, fans will be given a chance to vote on which of their favorite Jeter moments should be honored on the coin.

MLB will also host The Final Season Pop-Up Shop at MLB.com, where fans can buy the commemorative coins, Jeter t-shirts, jerseys and other collectibles.

A portion of the proceeds from the collection will go to Turn 2 Foundation, founded by Jeter during his rookie year in 1996 to help youth avoid drug and alcohol addiction.

“When I stared the Turn 2 Foundation, I could not have imagined it would grow into what is has today, and I am committed to seeing it continue long after my playing career,” says Jeter. “These coins are a great way to not only raise money for the Jeter’s Leaders program, the Foundation’s signature initiative, but also to give something back to the fans for supporting me all these years and into the future.”
