Hyundai Motor Company has entered into a wide-reaching partnership with A+E Networks that will see the auto brand become the become the global sponsor of The History Channel’s upcoming television event “History of Football: The Greatest Story Ever Played.”

Under the terms of the partnership, Hyundai has commissioned bespoke content that will air during the program, on-air sponsorship credits, branded promotions as well as digital and social extensions.

The agreement will also see Hyundai showcase its long-running partnership with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association and its association with the FIFA Men’s World Cup since 2002. The sponsorship will also highlight the new FIFA World Football Museum Presented by Hyundai which is set to open at the Hyundai Motorstudio in Moscow, Russia.

“History of Football” is a 14-day programming event that explores the game of soccer around the world, traces its history and profiles some of the game’s biggest stars including Pele and Lionel Messi.

“History of Football: The Greatest Story Ever Played” will air in more than 160 territories May 28-Jun. 14.
