Formula 1 has announced it will increase its presence in Brazil after a renewal with Bandeirantes (Band) for three years covering the 2023-2025 seasons, for the exclusive broadcast rights of the sport in Brazil. In addition, F1 and ClaroBrasil, a representative company of América Móvilin Brazil, have announced a new distribution agreement that will make the telco enterprise the exclusive distribution partner of F1 TV Pro in the country.

Throughout the term, all qualifying sessions and Grands Prix, will be broadcast on a live free-to-air basis on Rede Bandeirantes. Band Sports will also continue to transmit all sessions from each race weekend until the end of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship.

F1 TV Pro is the dedicated over the top (OTT) subscription video platform of F1 and from July will be available to Claro Brazil customers, who can pay for the subscription through their postpaid bills. This comes as part of a partnership between Formula 1 and América Movil, the largest telecommunications services provider in Latin America.

F1 TV Pro offers coverage of every F1 session live and on demand, as well as live access to all 20 driver onboard cams and team radio channels, session replays and highlights and live streaming of every F2, F3 and Porsche Supercup.

“Formula 1 has always had a significant presence in Brazil and an illustrious history associated with the country so it’s fantastic that through these deals, we’re able to make the sport as widely available to as many fans as possible,” says Ian Holmes, director of media rights and content creation, Formula 1. “We are delighted to be working with Band for a further term and continue the impressive growth that we witnessed last year and are able to combine their free-to-air coverage with the addition of the Claro partnership that enables the more avid fan access to even greater levels of archive and original content.”

“We are extremely happy with the agreement,” says Denis Gavazzi, sports director, Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação. “Formula 1 is the main sport product of Grupo Bandeirantes. I believe that the continuation of the partnership between Band and Formula 1 is the result of the good work done from last year until now. It is important to emphasize that Band and Formula 1 are partners in Brazil and will always work together for the growth of the category in our country.”

“Band has the DNA of sport. It has always been and continues to be the Sports Channel in the memory of Brazilians,” says Rodolfo Schneider, national content director, Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação. “The arrival of Formula 1 strengthened this pillar and became a great success. The numbers prove this. We have a brilliant team covering the entire season and we have space within the Group's vehicles to treat Formula 1 with the size it deserves and the viewers want.”

“Motorsports represent one of Claro's key marketing assets, positioning our products and services around performance, technology and innovation,” says Marcio Carvalho, chief marketing officer, Claro. “We have a track record sponsoring drivers and racing teams, such as Sérgio Perez, Pietro Fittipaldi and Red Bull Racing. In addition, Claro supports Bandas broadcast sponsor. We are now launching F1 TV Pro streaming service, reinforcing our position as the largest content hub in Latin America. Claro customers and motorsport fans will have access to all emotions, with the greatest convenience, being able to add on F1 TV to our connectivity and entertainment services, enabling them to watch and engage with F1 at home, through the biggest broadband platform in Brazil and anywhere else on their smartphones, experiencing the greater quality of our mobile network, the fastest in the country.”
