FC Barcelona Academy to Open in U.S.

Located in Lauderhill, Fla., the academy for boys and girls ages 6 to 13 will impart the training regime and methodology of the professional soccer club known the world over as Barça.

"After many years of offering the Barça training style at soccer camps in the U.S., we thought the time was perfect to establish a permanent home for our program," says Oriol Sala, president, Kaptiva Sports. "We are eager to begin this new chapter and make sports history in South Florida."

Kaptiva Sports will also host FCB camps at the new FCBEscola complex, located at Central Broward Regional Park, this summer.

Tryouts for the academy will take place May 17, with more than 1,000 young soccer players expected to take part.
