The Collegiate Licensing Company, the licensing affiliate of IMG College, has been selected as the exclusive licensing representative for Michigan State University.
Michigan State was previously one of the nation’s largest remaining independent licensing programs and is a perennial Power 5 contender in football and basketball, with more than 530,000 alumni in the U.S.
CLC’s brand management strategy for Michigan State will focus on ensuring long-term value through partnerships with best-in-class licensees, utilizing CLC’s retail intelligence and consumer insight to expand the presence of the school’s merchandise at retail, reaching consumers through mobile marketing platforms and building the brand through CLC’s local, regional and national marketing programs.
CLC currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions nationwide, and has signed more than 25 new school deals this year.
“Michigan State is a successful brand that had many options for the future of its licensing program, and we are proud they recognized the national footprint, strategic approach to brand management, and access to resources across a variety of industries that only we can offer,” says Cory Moss, senior vice president and managing director, CLC.
